Regional Nodes Meetings Summary Report 2010 Description: Summary report about the Regional Nodes Meeting held in 2010. Abstract: In 2008, the Nodes Committee members requested the organisation of regional meetings as a way to improve participation and ensure better channels of communication and discussion. As a result, two rounds of regional meetings have been held to date in Africa (Arusha, Tanzania, 2008; Entebbe, Uganda, 2010), Asia (Bangkok, Thailand, 2009; Dehradun, India, 2010), Europe (Copenhagen, Denmark, 2008; Alicante, Spain, 2010), Latin America (San Jose, Costa Rica, 2008; Cusco, Peru, 2010), and North America (Washington, USA, 2009; Guelph, Canada, 2010). In addition, regional break‐out sessions were held at the 10th Nodes Committee Meeting held in Copenhagen, October 2009. This report provides a high‐level summary of the regional engagement process in 2010. It focuses on the key results of the five Regional Workshops held this year, providing some analysis of the process as well as a compilation of the main recommendations from the meetings. Readers of this document are strongly encouraged to refer to the 2010 Regional Reports, which provide richer information on the identified issues, priorities, recommendations, and on the proposed regional action plans.
